The event, From Classroom to Career: Connecting Ohio Educators and Environmental Professionals for Student Pathways, will take place on Monday, July 21st from 9am to 4:45pm in Columbus. The program will spotlight partnerships and initiatives furthering environmental education opportunities and making environmental career paths more accessible to Ohio students, and is designed to support Ohio educators by connecting them with professionals working in environmental and natural resources fields. The agenda includes:
A panel on engaging K-12 students from all backgrounds with environmental education opportunities
A guided tour of Spruce Run Nature Center - Columbus City School District’s primary environmental education campus
A networking session to connect educators with environmental professionals
Demonstrations of hands-on environmental lessons and activities, including Project Wild, Project Wet, and Project Learning Tree
Access to an environmental education resource toolkit
A catered lunch and refreshments
We're excited to offer free registration and mileage reimbursement to K-12 classroom educators for this program, as well as contact hours certificates for teachers attending in person! A free virtual option is also available for the morning session.
